To my delight the painting sold before the paint had even dried! :D
Currently it is hanging in my home for my own enjoyment for a few days before it is shipped to it’s new owner in Denmark.
Again you will see the use of the pointllist technique (the placing of many small dots close together to create an image)
To me this painting speaks of the eternal presence of light.
Even in the darkest hour, day or night, light is ever present in some form, even if there is no physcial light source, the light of the soul is always burning bright in each & every one of us.
No matter how dark the road ahead may seem this inner light is always there to guide the way, much like the shining moon in the painting, sometimes clouds cover the moon & it may seem to vanish for a time, in much the same way sometimes our own fearful thinking can obscure that inner light of peace & truth.
The light of the soul can never really be fully eclipsed, that is just an illusion of the mind, light will always shine again when we rise up & out of a fearful & dark thoughts, & when we do our light begins to light up our environment, illuminating others & all that we come into contact with.
Light is a special energy, so of course is the dark, if there were no darkness then we could not know light, we couldnt see shadows, or how light reflects, bounces, cascades, glows, etc, so for me this painting makes me cotemplate the constant flux of light & darkness within the human spirit & also in this amazing reality we call home.
Winter is often a time of reflection, stillness & peace, a time when the Earths energies appear to slow down, the trees loose their leaves, & much of the greenary recedes out of sight as if gone forever, this time of the year makes me reflect on the eternal cycles of life & death & how they are always inter-changing but never apart, they are deeply inter-twined, wherever there is death, new life will always spring up once again & take it’s place, as if by magic.
This is a comforting thought when in the depths of winter when only the evergreens keep their colour!
I hope you enjoy looking at Pointillist Park as much as i’ve enjoyed creating it.
Below is a link you can click on to the youtube video i created of the project as it took shape.
